Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS KATHLEEN PIROTTON (nee LARKIN) August 20, 1918 - March 1, 2012 Raised in a loving home with three brothers, Phyllis described herself as just a farm girl from Saskatchewan . Her loving manner, quirky sense of humour, genuine interest in others and compassionate understanding made her a blessing in everyone's life. Phyllis' children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends have benefited from her sensitive wisdom and caring. She worked as a legal secretary and executive assistant in Ottawa and later in Winnipeg, where she married Nick and they worked together to build a successful family business, Brookside Memorials. A devoted mother to her three children, Phyllis also served as a community volunteer. At age 57 she entered university and became an accomplished and published writer. She was predeceased by Nick and their youngest daughter, Wanda. Phyllis was so generous and delightfully engaging with everyone she knew until her very last day. A memorial tea for family and close friends will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Dakota House (1145 Dakota St., St. Vital). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nick and Phyllis Pirotton Bursary Fund. (Department of Philanthropy, 179 Extended Education Complex, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB R3T 2N2), or to a charity of your choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220

I saw Phyllis at Christmas at Dakota House. She looked great and reminisced about how many Niakwa Park residents were in the building. On behlaf of our family, our condolences. - Posted by: Laurie Gydé (family friend of son Gerald) on: Mar 09, 2012

I got to know Phyllis at Dakota House. She was a kind and beautiful lady. She would stop by the desk for the occasional chuckle. I will miss delivering her big batches of muffis that she would order. I will miss you Phyllis. Rest in Peace now. - Posted by: shiela selluski () on: Mar 08, 2012
